What Causes Receding Gums
Problem receding gum? I’m sure you know that in order to have healthy teeth, your gums should be healthy as well. Poor nutrition, hormonal changes and stress are to blame for gum recession. If you notice that the gum surrounding the teeth wears away, this may be a sign that you are suffering from a gum disease. You can easily notice any abnormalities in your gums and teeth. Plaque buildup can lead to infection, resulting to swelling and later on break down and recede. Check the color of your gums, if they are swollen and discolored, they are probably starting to recede.
Prevention is always the key so you have to make sure that you eat the right kinds of food, brush your teeth after eating, floss regularly. Stress and hormonal changes are something we can’t simply avoid but you have a greater chance of keeping receding gums at bay when you follow the above tips.
If your gums have started to wear away, visit your dentist and ask about Receding gums treatment. You can also start with your toothbrush. Using the right kind of toothbrush can help a lot. Look for a toothbrush with a small head and has soft bristles and make sure you don’t brush your teeth too hard. As much as possible do it in a gentle, circular motion.
Your dentist will also tell you to avoid acidic foods and drinks (citrus fruits and juices, tomatoes, pineapple and even carbonated drinks). The acids in these foods will only make the condition worse and cause more damage to your gums.
