Tag – To cane or not to cane?
This is a long overdue tag from Arlene. It took me quite a while to do this tag because I have been replying to so many tags and it had taken so much of my time that I haven’t been able to do some of the tags. I hope you will bear with me but I assure you that I will do all of these.
Going back to the question “To cane or not to cane?”
When my daughter was 4 or 5 years old, she and my nephew did something really nasty. They were so pissed with our maid that they filled her slippers with catsup. I got so angry with them that I grabbed a belt, asked them to lie prone and started hitting their butts. After 2 to 3 slaps, I noticed that they were laughing, it was then that I realized the belt was so soft. I had to laugh too, but of course, I didn’t show them. When I got my wits back, I talked to them, asked why they did that, and explained to them that it’s not nice to pull pranks on anybody.
From then on, I never tried spanking again, not even with my son. I always talk to them and explain things whenever they do something wrong. It works for my kids. They are growing up with no fears of getting spanked because words work better.
